The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday trapped and arrested Rahul Gandotra, Junior Engineer posted as TA within the BDO Workplace, Gulabgarh Mahore, Reasi, for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹8,000. The accused already has three circumstances registered towards him underneath the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Based on assertion, ACB registered a case FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 07 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at PS ACB Udhampur towards public servant, particularly, Rahul Gandotra, JE posted as TA in BDO Workplace Gulabgarh Mahore District Reasi for demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant.
Assertion reads that, The stated accused public servant demanded the bribe from the complainant for preparation of invoice pertaining to the RDD Work executed by the complainant. Since, the complainant didn’t need to pay the bribe, he approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking authorized motion towards the accused public servant underneath legislation.
On receipt of the compliant, a discreet verification was carried out, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the general public servant involved and accordingly, a case FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 07 of Prevention of Corruption, Act, 1988 was registered at PS ACB Udhampur and investigation was taken-up, it reads.
