The New START Treaty, initially signed by america and Russia in 2010, continued a string of nuclear arms management agreements between the 2 nations stretching again to 1991.

However on 5 February 2026 it expired – leaving no restrict on the variety of nuclear weapons the US and Russia can stockpile.
