Mangaluru: The challenge director of the Nationwide Highways Authority of India (NHAI) lodged a grievance alleging {that a} group of individuals unlawfully obstructed govt work to shut a median opening on NH-66, which was undertaken to stop frequent accidents and lack of life.The challenge director, NHAI, has duty for Nationwide Highways 66, 73, 169, and 75 throughout the limits of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. As per the Nationwide Highways (Land and Site visitors) Act, he’s authorised to hold out any repairs or modifications on these nationwide freeway stretches.
Accordingly, as a result of repeated car accidents and fatalities on the median opening on NH-66 between the KPT Junction and Kuntikana Junction, close to the freeway crossroad, and following complaints acquired by the NHAI, directions had been issued to Mugrodi Building Firm to shut the stated median opening to stop additional accidents.Police stated the work commenced on Feb 3, and the following day, between 9.15pm and 9.30pm, the complainant was current on the website issuing instructions concerning the work to Mugrodi Building Firm supervisor Subrahmanya, and his employees. At the moment, Pramod Ballalbhag, Umesh Shetty, Praveen Kumar, Santosh Kumar Barebailu, and others, with a typical intention, allegedly fashioned an illegal meeting and obstructed the complainant from performing his official duties. Additionally they prevented the employees from persevering with the work. A case on this regard was registered at Mangaluru East police station.
