    Shillong, Feb 10: The dying toll from the mine explosion at Mynsngat within the Thangskai space of Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district has risen to twenty-eight, district authorities confirmed on Monday.

    In accordance with an official assertion issued by the Deputy Commissioner, one injured individual, Raju Tamang (34), who was present process therapy at NEIGRIHMS Hospital in Shillong, succumbed to his accidents on Monday.     In the meantime, the federal government has disbursed ₹24 lakh as compensation to eight victims’ households up to now. Officers acknowledged that compensation funds would proceed as soon as documentary verification is accomplished for the remaining households.

    To keep up regulation and order and guarantee public security, the district Justice of the Peace has imposed prohibitory orders underneath Part 163 of the BNSS within the affected areas.

    The administration has urged the general public to cooperate with authorities, chorus from unlawful mining, and keep away from coming into hazardous or restricted zones.
