Mysore/Mysuru: The long-pending proposal to increase the runway at Mysore Airport from the present 1,740 metres to 2,750 metres within the first section, a transfer that may allow the operation of bigger plane, has gained recent momentum.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has initiated a joint survey and inspection of 206.12 acres recognized for enlargement. The train is aimed toward verifying land boundaries, assessing website circumstances and figuring out any encumbrances earlier than documentation is finalised.
A multi-agency inspection was carried out between Dec. 15 and 17, 2025, involving officers from the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Improvement Company Restricted (KSIIDC), the nodal company for land acquisition and handover, together with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Improvement Board (KIADB), Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Restricted (CNNL), Karnataka Energy Transmission Company Restricted (KPTCL), Nationwide Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the AAI.
