Ericsson, Microsoft, Jio and Nokia Launch Trusted Technology Alliance at Munich Security Conference

A grouping of 15 firms that includes Ericsson of Sweden, Microsoft, Jio Platforms (JPL) of India, and Nokia has launched the ‘Trusted Technology Alliance’ (TTA) on Friday. The alliance is based on five principles that will ensure the safe use of technology anywhere it is developed. The alliance was formed at the Munich Security Conference.

Other signatory members of the alliance include Anthropic, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cassava Technologies, Cohere, Google Cloud, Hanwha, Nscale, NTT, Rapidus, Saab, and SAP.

Its five principles ask the participating companies to demonstrate good corporate governance, ethical behavior, transparency in operations, robustness in the supply chain and security, a transparent and open digital ecosystem, and legality and data protection.

In a joint statement, the companies said they will work with governments and customers to ensure that the benefits of new technologies gain greater public trust and promote job creation and economic growth.

The alliance will continue to expand its membership. Its goal is to create reliable and accessible technology. The alliance will create collaborative ways of working that will benefit both nationally and globally. This will strengthen countries’ technological leadership and enhance their resilience and competitiveness in the marketplace during challenging times.

Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson, said, “No single company or country can build a secure and reliable digital stack alone.” Rather, trust and security can only be achieved together. That’s why, together with like-minded industry peers, we’ve launched the Trusted Tech Alliance, an initiative committed to verifiable trust practices across the digital stack.

Kiran Thomas, CEO of Jio Platforms, said, “Trusted, secure, and transparent technology is essential to unlocking inclusive digital growth globally. Jio Platforms is proud to join the Trusted Tech Alliance to advance common standards and verified practices across the technology stack.”

Thomas further added, “Through collaboration with global partners, we aim to strengthen resilience, expand digital opportunity, and build long-term confidence in next-generation connectivity, cloud, and AI systems.”
