Shillong, Feb 20: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has expressed profound sorrow at the sudden passing of Shillong MP Dr Ricky AJ Syngkon, calling it a significant loss to the state.
“My personal interaction and working with him, I find him to be a very honourable MP, who is humble,” Dhar said. “He was very active and, most importantly, he set aside political differences as he had a goal and vision on how to take the state forward.”
Dhar recalled his last conversation with Dr Syngkon, saying, “He told me that we need to keep political differences aside and let us build this wonderful state of ours together.”
He extended condolences to Dr Syngkon’s family, saying, “I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and I pray God give them strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Dhar added, “His passing away is not only a big loss to the family and the party he represented, but it is a big loss to the entire state as a whole.”
