Gadag: Many BJP functionaries alleged a political conspiracy behind MLA Chandru Lamani’s trapping by Lokayukta police.Vijayapura City MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who was sacked from the BJP, said Lamani was not the kind of person to beg for Rs 2-3 lakh. “He is a good doctor and a better human being. The trap seems to be a conspiracy to suppress an upcoming leader from the Banjara community,” he added.

Many Dalit leaders in Gadag district said that Lamani and former Kudachi MLA P Rajeev were a strong voice of the Dalit community. “Lamani and the Dalit community will not tolerate such a conspiracy. We will face such conspiracies legally,” they asserted.
