Kate Magee strengthens A&M Irish restructuring practice

Professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Kate Magee as a senior director. She joins the firm’s Dublin office, as it continues to strengthen its Irish restructuring and advisory offering.

Founded in 1983, Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global professional services firm, which helps corporates, boards, private equity firms, law firms and government agencies drive transformation, mitigate risk and unlock value. In recent years, the firm’s EMEA-wide corporate finance team in particular has come in for accelerated demand.

In 2025, the firm opened its first office in Ireland. The move to Dublin came as A&M established a brand new corporate finance practice in the country, and the arrival of Magee both reinforces A&M’s commitment to Ireland and its ambition to build a market-leading team in Dublin as the region becomes increasingly central to cross-border restructuring activity.

Magee brings over 15 years of experience in corporate recovery, forensic accounting, and formal restructuring situations. She joins A&M from Grant Thornton, where she specialised in managing complex examinerships, receiverships, and advisory mandates across various sectors, including retail, pharmaceutical, construction, and financial services. In her new role of senior director, Magee will work closely with Brendan Hanratty, managing director and head of restructuring for A&M Ireland, to provide independent, hands-on expertise to Irish corporates, lenders, and stakeholders navigating financial stress or distress.
