Junagadh MLA alleges 7.15L fraud by travel agent

Rajkot: An FIR has been registered at the Junagadh B Division police station against an Ahmedabad-based travel agency for allegedly cheating a sitting MLA of Rs 7.15 lakh by failing to refund money for a cancelled foreign trip. The complaint was lodged by Harshad Godi, personal assistant to Sanjay (Suresh) Koradiya. The FIR names partners and employees of Sparkle Holidays Private Limited.According to the complaint, the MLA and his family planned a vacation to Georgia in June 2025 and booked a package through the agency. The itinerary, from June 15 to June 22, included accommodation in Tbilisi. A sum of Rs 7.15 lakh was paid to the agency. However, the trip was cancelled at the airport after the family learned that the flight had been called off due to the Iran-related conflict. The family then approached the travel agency for a refund for the cancelled flight and hotel bookings. The agency initially assured the family that the refund would be processed, it later stopped responding to calls and follow-ups and eventually refused to return the money. A case of cheating has been registered under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
