The US Coast Guard boarded two “ghost fleet” tanker ships in a “meticulously coordinated” operation, Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem stated.
Noem stated one ship was within the North Atlantic Sea whereas the opposite was in worldwide waters close to the Caribbean. The operations befell inside hours of one another, she provides.
The tankers, the Marinera and the Sophia—have been “both final docked in Venezuela or en path to it”, Noem stated.
