Lionsgate Sometimes the best thing after a long work week is to sit down on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and binge through some mindlessly fun movies. It’s great to just tune out the world for a little while and get lost in some explosions and snarky banter, and Netflix is making that a whole lot easier because all four of “The Expendables” movies are now streaming on the service. Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham lead the franchise as Barney Ross and Lee Christmas, mercenaries who are…

Sony Pictures Venom, Marvel’s toothy alien symbiote who has been a major character in Spider-Man lore for decades, will once again headline a new movie — but this time, in an unexpected form. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog reports that an animated Venom film is in the early stages of development, with “Final Destination: Bloodlines” directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein attached to produce and direct it. Those guys seem like a great fit — they rejuvenated the “Final Destination” franchise on a big scale in crowd-pleasing fashion, and…
Reading Time: 3 minutes As we previously reported, Eric Dane has passed away after a battle with ALS. The Grey’s Anatomy star was just 53 years old. Obviously, Dane’s passing is a tragedy for his loved ones, especially his two daughters, Billie and Georgia. But the teens can hopefully take some comfort in the fact that Dane’s episode of the Netflix series Famous Last Words was coincidentally released on Friday. Eric Dane and his daughters Billie Beatrice Dane and Georgia Dane attend the Los Angeles premiere of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California…
Beginning this summer, professors at Florida’s 28 public colleges must use a state curriculum framework to teach their introduction to sociology courses. Aligned with the state-sanctioned sociology textbook, the framework requires that the courses do not “include a curriculum that teaches identity politics” or one that “is based on theories that systemic racism, sexism, oppression, and privilege are inherent in the institutions of the United States and were created to maintain social, political, and economic inequities.” Jose Arevalo, executive vice chancellor for the Florida State College System, shared information about the framework with representatives from 26 Florida colleges during a…
