Image source: Getty Images It’s always interesting to see what stocks some of the best investors in the world have decided to buy recently. And one stock in particular stands out in the latest data for Q4 2025. The stock in question is Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). There are always differing views in the stock market, but investors seem to have dramatically different ideas about what to make of this one. Buyers and sellers During the last three months of 2025, Baupost Group – led by Seth Klarman – was buying Amazon shares. And that’s striking because of the company’s strategy and…
Japan faces a big turning point after conservatives secure a two-thirds parliamentary supermajority. A decisive election outcome for Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party in early February has sparked renewed confidence among policymakers after years of leadership churn and macroeconomic pressures. They also seem to change all the time, depending on who is the latest to plonk a solid gold bar on to the Resolute desk. But the New York Fed has had a stab at the cost, and estimating who pays the price. Here’s a recent blog post from some of its economists, with an entirely unsurprising conclusion (Alphaville’s emphasis in bold below):First,…
