David Pike has joined Grant Thornton’s UK restructuring practice. He will lead the firm’s turnaround division in London.
Keely Woodley, UK head of strategic advisory at Grant Thornton, commented, “We are delighted to welcome David to our team, strengthening the support and solutions we provide to our clients across London and the global restructuring market.
“With his deep expertise in complex restructurings, David enhances our ability to deliver tailored, commercially focused advice across deals of all sizes. His appointment ensures our clients benefit from an even broader range of restructuring capabilities, greater strategic insight and a more seamless experience as they navigate periods of change and opportunity.”
Pike joined Grant Thornton in 2025, arriving from insolvency specialist Interpath Advisory. Most recently, he had been head of the firm’s London-based restructuring team, having played a key role in the firm’s establishment. Previously, he had also been a partner with KPMG’s restructuring wing – from which Interpath was carved out.
Pike’s diverse knowhow therefore spans domestic and international situations, having worked across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Offshore jurisdictions. In the UK, he has been administrator of intu properties, Toucan Energy, Calon Energy Group, HMV, Flybe, TXU, Technicolor Creative Studios, Monarch Aircraft and Elevate Credit. He has also worked alongside the senior official receiver in multiple special manager appointments such as Thomas Cook. His appointment with Grant Thornton strengthens the firm’s ability to scale its capabilities and support clients as they navigate strategic and operational changes.
Pike added, “I’m excited to join a firm that is investing heavily in client experience powered by digital and to work with a team whose capabilities and global reach are focused on delivering what clients need most in a rapidly changing market. My priority is to ensure our London restructuring team continues to grow in ways that directly support the challenges and opportunities our clients face, helping them protect and create value at every stage. I look forward to bringing my experience and network to further strengthen the support we provide to clients and enhance the impact of this already exceptional team.”
