Peter Budden and Razia Gent become directors at Bishop Fleming

Bishop Fleming has announced two senior appointments that expand its audit and advisory wings. Razia Gent joins as director of internal audit and risk advisory in Birmingham, while Peter Budden joins as private client director in Bristol.

Andrew Sandiford, CEO of Bishop Fleming, commented, “Attracting talent of Razia and Peter’s calibre is a testament to our ambition. Their experience and expertise strengthen our capacity to provide high-level, senior advisory services to our clients – from large corporations, public sector organisations, charities and schools to entrepreneurs and private individuals. As the market sees a shift in how large firms manage client relationships, we are perfectly positioned as the go-to firm for complex advisory work delivered with a trusted and personal senior touch.”

Bishop Fleming is an independent provider of audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory services in the UK. From owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and large businesses; to entrepreneurs and private individuals; it offers full services across a diverse range of sectors. With a turnover of over £48 million, the firm saw growth of over 15% over the last 12 months.

Peter Budden is a private client tax director with over a decade of experience in private practice. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, he advises individual clients by delivering bespoke tax and commercial advice across both personal and business wealth. His client base includes entrepreneurs, family businesses, C‑suite executives, and high‑net‑worth individuals.

Budden said, “Bishop Fleming’s focus on growth and commitment to delivering the very best advisory services for clients was a major factor in my decision to join the business. There is a significant opportunity to support clients from the top end of the spectrum at a time when tax advisory is at the top of the priority list for businesses and individuals alike. I am excited to help our clients navigate the complex tax environment with clarity and confidence.”

Razia Gent is a director in the firms internal audit and risk advisory wing, working to shape stronger ERM and assurance environments for clients. As a Chartered Internal Auditor with over 15 years of experience, Gent specialises in end-to-end internal audit, risk, and assurance services across both industry and professional services.

Gent concluded, “I am thrilled to have this unique opportunity to join an organisation that is on such a clear growth journey. I’m looking forward to building a team that acts as a trusted advisor, particularly as clients seek more pragmatic, value-added consultancy as they navigate increasingly complex risk landscapes.”
