Andersen Consulting has welcomed Randeep Dhaliwal as a director in its UK wing. He will now serve as head of research and development, strengthening the firm’s corporate tax practice.
Partner and head of corporate tax, Kevin Hindley, remarked, “Randeep is a brilliant addition to the Corporate Tax team, and his strong technical expertise is very welcome during this exciting period of growth for the firm.”
Dhaliwal specialises in corporate tax for both UK and international businesses and groups, and has over 11 years’ experience advising on the full spectrum of corporate tax matters and many years dealing with R&D tax issues. Most recently, he was head of R&D with professional services firm Kreston Reeves – but following the firm’s acquisition by AAB, has sought fresh opportunities.
According to Andersen Consulting, the move “marks the next step in Andersen’s recent period of growth”, as the firm continues to expand its broad UK and international client offering. It also brings more recognised expertise to the firm, with Dhaliwal sitting on the ICAEW’s business tax committee, and R&D working group, notably working on the body’s response to eight of the last ten government consultations on R&D tax relief.
Speaking on his appointment, Dhaliwali said, “I’m delighted to be joining the Corporate Tax team at Andersen. In recent years there have been significant changes to the legislation around R&D tax, and I’m thoroughly looking forward to working with the team to help clients navigate the complex challenges they face.”
As recently as the early 2000s, Arthur Andersen was one of what was then the ‘Big Five’ accounting groups. As part of that, Andersen Consulting was one of the world’s largest consulting firms. When Andersen collapsed in 2002 after the Enron accounting scandal, Andersen Consulting continued to operate as a standalone business, eventually rebranding as Accenture – today, one of the largest consulting firms in the world by revenue.
The resurrection of Andersen as its own brand kicked off in 2014, when former Arthur Andersen partner Mark Vorsatz acquired rights to the corporate identity. The Andersen Consulting business that resulted from that focuses on tax and legal work, and has grown to a network of more than 20,000 professionals worldwide and a presence in over 160 countries worldwide.
Earlier in February, the firm also announced it had ventured further into the accounting space, with a new partnership with Lighthouse Consultants. It also recently completed the purchase of Stratence Partners, another London-based consultancy, this time specialising in pricing, which Andersen completed a deal for in June 2025.
