On Wednesday, Representative Ted Lieu of California escalated a controversy surrounding the newly released Jeffrey Epstein files by asserting that the documents contain disturbing allegations involving President Donald Trump and minors. The Trump administration has vehemently denied Lieu’s claims as having “ZERO credibility.”
In remarks reported today, Lieu claimed that the portion of the files reviewed by select members of Congress contains references to Trump “thousands and thousands of times” and includes specific allegations that he “raped and threatened to kill” minors.
🚨 MAJOR BOMBSHELL: Ted Lieu says the full, unreleased Epstein files show Donald Trump R*PING children.
That’s what’s being hidden.
That’s why the files stay sealed.
That’s why there are no arrests.Release everything. Let the truth come out. Or RESIGN! pic.twitter.com/VUjBspEv3d

These allegations, Lieu said, are deeply troubling and merit full media and law enforcement attention. He also alleged that House Republicans’ focus on former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary, is a way of distracting from the files on Trump. Lieu has been raising questions about the Epstein materials for weeks.
Since the release of the files, President Trump and numerous figures in his administration have vehemently denied any wrongdoing on Trump’s part. They called Lieu’s comments “salaciously insane” and having “ZERO credibility.” They also called Rep. Lieu “a disgrace, who pushes baseless accusations to further his political ambition,” calling on him to “do better.”
First: these salaciously insane accusations are in the library- UNredacted.
Second: they were found to have ZERO credibility.@tedlieu is a disgrace, who pushes baseless accusations to further his political ambition. Do better, Ted. https://t.co/tHn4Qb8lzq

In early February, Lieu pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi during a congressional oversight hearing on why authorities had not pursued sexual assault claims linked to Trump that appeared in parts of the files. He also accused Bondi of misleading lawmakers about the existence of such allegations. He called out Bondi for “creepily” spying on the unredacted files on social media, citing a specific victim who was later found dead after accusing Trump and Epstein of rape.
Lieu said the Justice Department failed to interview an FBI tipster whose complaint included rape allegations connected to Trump, calling the department’s inaction unacceptable. In a February hearing, he emphasized that the files contained credible complaints that should not be ignored. He has argued repeatedly that the American public deserves transparency and accountability as the files are reviewed and released.
The Jeffrey Epstein files consist of millions of pages of court documents, FBI records, and other materials related to Epstein’s crimes and network of associates. The Epstein Files Transparency Act required the Department of Justice to make these records public and to provide unredacted lists of politically exposed persons named in the files. Numerous powerful figures, including Trump, Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Prince Andrew, have been implicated in the released Epstein files.
