I come from a time before widespread wiki formats, when guidance for a given quest often meant paging through seven or eight fan hubs for a given game that all contradicted one another and might eventually coalesce to tell you how to actually clear a quest. I do not miss the past. But the modern era of wikis for every game covering every mechanic brings with it different problems, and one of those problems is that some MMORPGs just have better wikis than others.
Part of it is popularity, sure, but some games are plenty popular and just don’t have a great central wiki no matter what. Others have a wiki that explains things in so much detail that you kinda wish the game itself had half the dedication to clarity of the fans writing those articles. So which MMORPG has the best wiki? The one you point to as a gold standard of “here, this is how you tell people what’s in the game”?
Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
