This past August, we reported on the VR MMORPG Ilysia, which transitioned to a free-to-play business model while still maintaining its early access development. It’s been a few months since that update went live, so it’s time to provide a quick check in.
In terms of updates, those have kept on coming, even if sporadically, with a primary focus on general updates and hotfixes. Two of its larger patches in terms of content have raised the level cap to a max of 18, added a new zone, and opened a new dungeon.
Unfortunately, Team 21’s decision to shift away from buy-to-play hasn’t appeared to have improved its player concurrency on Steam, with numbers hitting single digits on the platform and cresting only to 18 after its F2P transition. We do note that the game is also purchasable on the Oculus store, but all told this one might be rotting on the vine.
