US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters clashed in an alternate over President Donald Trump’s financial agenda on Wednesday.
Throughout a routine listening to of the Home Monetary Companies Committee, Waters, the highest Democrat on the board, repeatedly pushed Bessent over his dedication to decreasing costs for Individuals.
Bessent pushed again, and the alternate devolved into Waters asking the Republican committee chair to ‘shut him up’. Bessent retorted asking Waters to ‘preserve some degree of dignity’.
