At the least 31 individuals have been killed and nearly 170 injured after a suicide bomber detonated a tool at a Shia mosque, in response to police.
Eyewitnesses have instructed the BBC the blast was preceded by the sound of gunfire.
An emergency was declared as hospitals started to obtain the wounded, with an enchantment despatched out for blood donations.
