The Quincy Institute’s Trita Parsi says ‘the altering objective posts’ of Iran-US talks depart little room for achievement.
If the Trump administration adopts Israel’s “crimson traces” within the negotiations with Iran, the talks are doomed, argues Trita Parsi, government vp of the Quincy Institute for Accountable Statecraft.
Parsi tells host Steve Clemons that Iran is prepared to achieve a deal on its nuclear programme, because it did in 2015 with then-President Barack Obama. However so much relies on “whether or not the US is prepared to push again in opposition to Israel or not”.
Israeli officers have been “very upset” that the USA has thus far chosen diplomacy over struggle, and demand that the US add new points – particularly Iran’s ballistic missiles – to the agenda.
