Rajkot: A 30-year-old farmer from Soratha village in Kalavad taluka of Jamnagar district has lodged a police criticism towards a farm produce dealer for dishonest him and a number of other others of practically Rs 97 lakh.The complainant, Kuldeep Kothiya, named Dilip Savaliya, a resident of Kalavad engaged within the buy and sale of agricultural produce.Throughout 2025–26, Savaliya bought commodities together with groundnut, sesame, and white chickpeas from Kothiya and 18 different farmers, however didn’t make ake full funds, leading to complete fraud amounting to Rs 96.97 lakh.Kothiya stated he had been involved with Savaliya for 3 years. In Jan, Kothiya bought 1,685 luggage of groundnut to Savaliya for Rs 24 lakh towards which he paid solely Rs 5.90 lakh in money. When Kothiya tried to contact Savaliya later, his cellphone was switched off. Upon additional inquiry, he learnt that Savaliya had allegedly purchased produce from a number of farmers and absconded with out clearing dues.
