Palanpur: An outsourced data entry operator posted at the mamlatdar office in Varahi of Patan district was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000.ACB officials said Mahesh Kumar alias Mukesh Parmar, working in the ATVT branch of the office, had demanded money to facilitate the issuance of an official order from the mamlatdar for obtaining a duplicate birth certificate of the complainant’s nephew. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant contacted the Patan ACB, which laid a trap at a tea stall outside the office and caught him accepting the bribe. The trap was carried out by police inspector M J Chaudhary of the ACB police station, Patan.
