    Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, whereas presenting the Funds within the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, mounted a robust defence towards allegations raised by Chief of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Responding to remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she mentioned it was the Congress that had “surrendered on the World Commerce Group (WTO), not us”.

    She remarked that the Chief of the Opposition was making an attempt to show the federal government tips on how to negotiate. Referring to 2009, she mentioned former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had spoken about bringing India and Pakistan collectively, and that the Congress had then advocated negotiations and dialogue with Pakistan. “At present, these similar Congress members are giving us recommendation. You’re the ones promoting it,” she mentioned.

    As opposition members protested, Sitharaman asserted that shouting wouldn’t silence her. “They can not silence my voice by shouting. The entire nation will pay attention,” she mentioned, including, “Kiren Rijiju was proper when he mentioned that nobody has been born who can promote India.”

    ‘No Scarcity of Credit score’, Fertiliser Allocation Assured

    Focus On Fisheries, MSMEs And Conventional Clusters

    Outlining the federal government’s financial priorities, Sitharaman mentioned there was a robust push to advertise fisheries and animal husbandry to profit farmers and allied sectors. She added that the federal government was working not solely to help MSMEs but in addition to develop current companies.

    Referring to longstanding industrial clusters, she mentioned round 200 such centres—recognized for many years for manufacturing and exports—can be supported. These embrace clusters close to Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kanpur and Bihar, and probably in Bengal as effectively. She mentioned the federal government had voluntarily dedicated to funding, upgrading and modernising these clusters with improved tools.
