Rs. 60 lakh money, gold seized thus far; seven locations searched
Mysore/Mysuru: In an early morning operation immediately, the Lokayukta Police performed simultaneous raids in Mysuru concentrating on two Authorities officers accused of possessing belongings disproportionate to their identified sources of earnings.
Lokayukta groups searched the residences, places of work and different properties linked to Ok.R. Chandrashekar, Junior Engineer at T. Narasipur City Municipality (on deputation from Mysuru Metropolis Company), and Altaf Hussain Jakarthi, Deputy Electrical Engineer with Chamundeshwari Electrical energy Provide Company (on deputation to Mysuru Metropolis Company).
In Mysuru and T. Narasipur, raids have been carried out at seven areas, together with the homes of family members, following repeated complaints of corruption and alleged unlawful wealth accumulation.
Searches have been performed at Jakarthi’s residence in Vijayanagar, workplace on Sayyaji Rao Street, Chandrashekar’s home in Ok.G. Koppal and the T. Narasipur workplace. Lokayukta Police reportedly seized Rs. 60 lakh in money from Chandrashekar’s premises.
Money and gold have been additionally seized from Jakarthi’s residence. The full worth of the seizure and movable and immovable belongings can be identified later.
Lokayukta groups documented belongings suspected to be disproportionate to the officers’ identified sources of earnings. In keeping with officers, the raids have been triggered by sustained complaints alleging that the accused had amassed wealth far past their reputable earnings.
The searches, which started within the early hours, continued by the morning as Lokayukta officers catalogued seized paperwork, valuables and money.
