Namakkal: Chief minister M Ok Stalin on Friday inaugurated a multipurpose corridor constructed in reminiscence of former chief minister of Madras Presidency Dr P Subbarayan at a price of Rs3.06 crore in Navani Thotakkurpatty village via video conferencing from Chennai. The corridor incorporates a bust of Subbarayan.Adi dravidar welfare minister Dr M Mathivendan, Rajya Sabha MP Ok R N Rajesh Kumar, Namakkal MP V S Matheswaran and MLA P Ramalingam had been current on the memorial corridor through the inaugural ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Mathivendan stated the state govt was dedicated to honouring the residing and deceased leaders so as to add satisfaction to their work and convey their glory to the subsequent technology. He stated DMK govt had erected greater than 60 statues and constructed 11 memorial halls throughout the state up to now 5 years. “Dr P Subbaraya memorial corridor is unveiled so as to add satisfaction to Namakkal district.” MP Rajesh Kumar stated a memorial corridor for Subbaraya in his native district was a long-standing demand. “It has been fulfilled through the tenure of our CM,” he stated and added that the Namakkal MLA had supplied Rs40 lakh from the constituency growth fund for the development of the corridor. The occasion noticed Mathivendan honouring Mohan Kumaramangalam, a successor of Dr P Subbarayan, by presenting him with a scarf.
