Sule seeks transparent inquiry into Ajit Pawar’s plane crash | Pune News – The Times of India

Pune: Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Wednesday demanded a transparent inquiry by the govt into the plane crash that resulted in the death of former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.“Every day, new information comes to light. Everyone is now raising questions about the accident. Therefore, we are seeking comprehensive data and a formal and transparent inquiry by the govt,” Sule told reporters after visiting the Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters in Shivajinagar.“The information about the black box will be available. The accident is not a matter of politics,” she said, adding the real homage to Ajit Pawar will be to promote his development agenda through works.Sule also said NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, who conducted press conferences about the accident, is doing a scientific follow-up of this matter. “He is very touched and emotional about the demise. He lost his uncle and wants to know the truth,” she said.When asked if NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar is being nominated to the Rajya Sabha again, Sule said MVA members will hold a meeting in the next few days and finalise a name.About civic issues, she said projects such as auditoriums and schools in Vadgaon have been pending for more than a decade and those should be implemented on priority. Construction, repair, and expansion work on Sinhagad Road and the Katraj flyover should also be carried out at the earliest, Sule said, adding those would help in reducing traffic congestion.“The irrigation department and the municipal corporation should be on the same page. They are part of the same govt, and differences between them are not a healthy sign. The chief minister should intervene in this matter,” the MP said in response to questions on inadequate water supply in the city.She said the ‘Kalakar Katta’, an open space near GoodLuck Chowk in Shivajinagar, which is designated for artists to showcase their talent, should not be relocated. BJP corporators demanded the relocation.Sule said increasing the property tax in the merged areas is not right. “The civic administration is not providing adequate facilities in these areas, so a tax hike (proposed) is not justified,” she added.
