

Venus Williams has been awarded a wildcard for the ATX Open scheduled for February 27 to March 5 in Austin, Texas.
The previous world No. 1 will compete in each singles and doubles on the WTA 250 occasion, marking her first look on the match. The ATX Open is performed on outside onerous courts at Westwood Nation Membership and takes place forward of the Indian Wells and Miami Open.
Williams stated she is wanting ahead to competing in Austin.
“I’m excited to be heading to Austin and enjoying my first ATX Open,” Williams stated. “I’ve heard nice issues in regards to the metropolis and the followers, and I’m wanting ahead to enjoying each singles and doubles.”
Jessica Pegula returns as defending champion together with Iva Jovic, Peyton Stearns, Eva Lys, and Xinyu Wang.
Event director Christo Van Rensburg stated Williams’ inclusion strengthens the occasion.
“That is the strongest discipline we’ve had up to now,” Van Rensburg stated. “Having Venus compete in Austin is one other step ahead for the match.”
ATX Open organisers confirmed that one extra wildcard can be introduced.
