    The Delhi Metro Rail Company (DMCR) has recorded an working surplus of ₹412.79 crore in 2024-25, marking a continued enchancment in its monetary efficiency, the Rajya Sabha was advised on Monday.

    The income of the Delhi Metro stood at ₹4,600.62 crore throughout 2024-25, whereas working expenditure was ₹4,187.83 crore, ensuing within the surplus of over ₹412 crore. That is greater than the working surplus of ₹371.52 crore posted in 2023-24.

    In line with a written reply by Union Minister of State for Housing and City Affairs Tokhan Sahi to a query, in 2023-24, the Delhi Metro Rail Company (DMRC) had earned a income of ₹4,204.20 crore towards an working expenditure of ₹3,832.68 crore.

    The monetary place has proven a gradual restoration over the previous three years following the sharp losses recorded in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic interval.

    In 2022-23, the Delhi Metro reported a marginal working surplus of ₹59.87 crore, with revenues of ₹3,633.18 crore and working expenditure of ₹3,573.31 crore.

    The minister stated that over the past 5 years, 128.503 kilometres have been sanctioned to the Delhi Metro community.

    The measures taken by DMRC to enhance monetary sustainability, operational effectivity and repair high quality embrace having achieved operational self-sufficiency by way of a balanced mixture of Fare Field Income and Non-Fare Field Income (NFBR) by way of property enterprise, property growth, exterior tasks, and consultancy companies.
