Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis additionally criticized Pirro’s feedback, stating, “Second Modification rights are usually not extinguished simply because an American visits DC. Georgia Consultant Andrew Clyde wrote on X that “Shall NOT be infringed is NOT a suggestion. We’d like nationwide hid carry reciprocity NOW. Our Second Modification freedoms do not disappear after we cross state traces or enter our nation’s capital metropolis.”

Pirro has made public statements clarifying her feedback, posting on social media, “Let me be clear: I’m a proud supporter of the Second Modification. Washington, D.C. regulation requires handguns to be licensed within the District with the Metropolitan Police Division to be carried into our neighborhood. We’re centered on people who’re unlawfully carrying weapons and can proceed constructing on that momentum to maintain our communities secure.”

The Trump administration appears to be backing Pirro, with Deputy Lawyer Normal Todd Blanche responding to Pirro’s social media put up, writing, “This Administration and Division of Justice will fiercely shield Second Modification rights.”
