What do a cozy open world, hyper-intelligent animals, and piloting an advanced mech have to do with each other? Well, it’s the overall thrust for Animalkind, an in-development and adorable-looking title from Uncommon Games that lets players take up the role of cute animals in an effort to create a comfy little village after an apocalyptic event.
“Forage, frolic and zoomie as an intelligent, aww-dorable animal who discovers an ancient mech. Pilot the mech and use a suite of powerful tools to gather resources, shape the land, and build your ideal town alongside a growing cast of characters.”
The game has been in the oven for a little while now, starting with an alpha test last August and a single-player demo last December, but soon that demo will allow online co-op for up to four people at the start of Steam Next Fest on February 23rd. The demo also promises several improvements based on player feedback.
More information about multiplayer is promised ahead of the demo update, but for now it looks as if there’s another game to add to the wishlist pile ahead of its PC release sometime later this year. Assuming you’re the sort of person who likes cute and cozy animal-based town building, anyway.
