With the rising prices of RAM, there’s never been a worse time to build a PC really.
In fact, some fans believe the upcoming PS5 release of PC Building Simulator 2 should belong in the “fantasy” genre, because only the very rich can afford multiple sticks of the previous component these days.
This game is much the same as its predecessor, where you put together PCs using a variety of real-life, licensed components.
Amusingly, though, it does feature a full campaign mode, as detailed below:
“Work for Uncle Tim in ‘Story Mode’ where you can grow your empire as you learn to repair, build and customise PCs. Or see how long you can last in our ‘Endless Mode’ where the risks of survival are very real. Or maybe you just want to kick back and relax in ‘Freebuild Mode’, where money is no factor.”
The ongoing RAM apocalypse, fuelled by a surge in demand from AI organisations, is just the latest in a long line of global economic disasters, following the pandemic-powered semi-conductor shortages that occurred several years ago.
Recent rumours suggest even PlayStation may be affected by the issues, as it ponders whether to delay the PS6 out of its internally planned 2027 release date and into 2028 or even 2029.
At least there are no RAM shortages in PC Building Simulator 2, eh? It really is a fantasy world, huh? The game’s due out on 26th February.
