It’s easy to presume the worst for the fortunes of Riot Games’ tag fighter 2XKO following layoffs that affected its developers, but game director Shaun Rivera wants to make sure that fans know the remaining team is still fully committed to ongoing development.
Rivera shares a few broad details on three primary development foci, which include prototyping of local duo play, maintaining the fighter’s high skill ceiling while better defining each character’s strengths and weaknesses, and providing direct support for tournament organizers like exclusive in-game prizes.
Rivera also calls attention to some specific feedback that the remaining devs will address, like keeping an eye on matchmaking oddness, fixing screen tearing on console, and addressing some overpowered balance for the characters Yasuo and Ekko at higher levels of play. “Our team is still fully committed and working hard on 2XKO, and we’re doubling down on building for the FGC that loves this genre,” he writes.
The post closes with a sneak peek at two more characters headed to the roster: Akali, a sharp and stylish ninja who swiftly cuts through opponents (as one might expect); and Senna, who wields the powers of light, dark, and a giant cannon she found. More will be discussed for these two additions later, but preview videos await below.
