A uncommon phantom jellyfish has been noticed by scientists exploring the deep sea close to Argentina.
Stygiomedusa gigantea, extra generally referred to as the large phantom jellyfish, was filmed 250 metres under the floor within the South Atlantic Ocean.
Scientists from the Schmidt Ocean Institute documented the creature, which may develop as much as 1m (3.3ft) in diameter, with their arms reaching as much as 10m (33ft) lengthy.
Their 4 arms, which appear like lengthy pink ribbons, usually are not stinging tentacles. As a substitute the jellyfish use them to catch their prey of fish and plankton, in line with the institute.
The group additionally found 28 potential new species together with corals, sea urchins, and sea anemones.
