Srinagar: In a stern motion towards corruption inside the police ranks, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a police sub-inspector after catching him red-handed whereas accepting a bribe throughout a lure operation within the Mendhar space of Poonch district.

Officers stated the accused police officer was caught purple handed whereas accepting unlawful gratification following a grievance acquired by the ACB. Appearing on the grievance, the bureau laid a lure and efficiently apprehended the officer on the spot in Mendhar.
The arrest was made after verification of the allegations, following which a proper case was registered beneath related provisions of regulation. The accused has been taken into custody for additional investigation.
An official stated the operation is a part of the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s continued drive towards corruption in public workplaces. He stated investigations are underway to establish whether or not another officers had been concerned and to find out the broader circumstances surrounding the case.
The ACB has reiterated its attraction to the general public to report cases of corruption, assuring strict motion towards these discovered indulging in corrupt practices. (KNC)
