Davanagere: A father in Arundi village of Nyamati taluk in Davanagere district burned his daughter’s college books and informed her to not attend college, prompting the Class 10 pupil to name 112 and later file a criticism at Nyamati police station. Police mentioned the person, a resident of Arundi, was hooked on alcohol and created disturbances at house day by day. The woman reported that after consuming, her father prevented her from going to high school, burned her books and triggered a commotion. Responding to the 112 name, police visited the home and counselled the daddy. Officers Hemaraj and Ravikumar went to the woman’s house and suggested him. Beneath the management of CPI Ravi from Nyamati police station, police offered the scholar with the mandatory books and notebooks for her research and knowledgeable the related college academics, requesting them to take steps to make sure her schooling was not disrupted.
The incident occurred through the preparatory examination interval, with the SSLC exams for the 2025-26 session scheduled from March 18 to April 2. The daddy’s conduct sparked public outrage, police mentioned.
