Guwahati, Feb 6: Six of the 19 employees killed within the devastating coal mine explosion in Meghalaya had been residents of Assam’s Cachar district, Deputy Commissioner Aayush Garg confirmed on Friday, as rescue and reduction operations intensified throughout state strains.
The blast, triggered by a suspected dynamite explosion inside a coal mine at Mynsyngat village within the Thangsko space of Elaka Sutnga below Saipung C&RD Block, occurred on February 5. Search and rescue operations formally started at 9:55 am on February 6.
